Cos Labory, 5ieme GCC
Bordeaux > Saint Estephe
-
55.00% Cabernet Sauvignon; 33.00% Merlot; 10.00% Cabernet Franc; 2.00% Petit Verdot
The name of Cos Labory comes from the word “caux”, which means “stony hill” and “Labory”, referring to the château’s owner from 1820-1840. Purchased in 1845 by Monsieur d’Estournel, Château Cos Labory was sold to an English banker, Charles Martyns, in 1852. It currently belongs to the Audoy family. The 18 hectares of vines are located on the gravelly rise of Cos. The traditional blend of Médoc grape varieties is used in this great growth wine. The wine of Cos Labory is made with special care and attention. It is fermented and aged differently every year according to the characteristics of the vintage. Cos Labory has an excellent tannic structure, typical of the finest wines of Saint Estèphe.
